Americans spend more in two months on Christmas gifts than they do on charity all year long. Does that seem right to you? It didn’t to me, so I started promoting a program in 2002 called Holiday for Charity. The idea is simple: ask those who would give you gifts to donate to charity in your name instead. It’s good for all concerned.
