Joe. This is great advice. I especially like your idea about "contacting them" with your info and a few links, etc.
Always thinking, aren't you? Mind if I link your post to Wordiquette? I'd like to help out my 3 readers. Tomorrow 4!

Joe, agreed (and nice follow up on Chris' post). I love the idea of taking a photo of them. Didn't know evernote allowed searchable text. I used to keep business cards as reminders of people I met. They would come in handy, but less now as more people have transfered their info online to blogs, linkedin, etc.

My husband detests the card. He just says google me. I'm the first Andrew Warner to come up.

Like the part about etiquette too. Whenever I'm handed a flyer on the street I look at it and digest (before I often junk/recycle it).

Dear Joe,

Thanks for a good post! I love that you're melding the old way of doing business with the new way (Evernote, indeed!) What I would have liked to have seen in this post is a social media equivalent to the business card, like exchanging mobile numbers or twitter handles, (like I did recently at the RISE AUSTIN conference.) Just a thought.

Great follow-up to @chrisbrogan's post. I agree that the stack of business cards gets a bit lost in the shuffle and since so many of us are digital it just doesn't make sense. I met Keith Kilpatrick from Buzzlogic at an event, and the way he presented his business cards had a bit of flair. It was great. I love what you do for the back of your business cards and think its a great way to share your online contacts.
