Newsletter: This Chain of Fabric Stores Takes Lead on Mask Policy π· ; Five Sources of Thought Leadership Content π€ ; What Deaf People Can Teach You About Virtual Communication π
I'm taking a few days off this week so I'm keeping this week's newsletter shorter than usual.
Happy August β±βοΈand see you next week!
βοΈ Partnership Notes
1. This chain of fabric stores is taking the lead on masks and is willing to lose customers over the issue. We need to be telling our partners: now is not the time to be wishy-washy. As Lincoln said, "Put your feet in the right place, then stand firm."
2. Here's an article to add to our Learning Club resources for our August 27th meeting. This month's topic is the future of retail. Pandemic be damned! This chain plans to open 75 to 80 new stores, a revision from their previous outlook of 10 to 15 locations.
3. How to keep closing partnership deals during the pandemic. I love this point: Pitch all deals like you are pitching to a CFO.
π€ Marketing Your Cause
1. Now is a great time for your organization to focus on thought leadership content. There are five sources.β¬οΈ Plus, who should and shouldn't be doing thought leadership content.
2. How to succeed as a content team of one. #4 is critical.
3. Why you shouldn't include social icons in your email newsletter. I include a link to Twitter in mine, but I'm super-engaged there and always follow-up quickly with people.
