✍️ Partnership Notes
In my "Partnership Notes" section, I share stellar corporate partnership programs and show you how to do your job better!
1. Anheuser-Busch ends 30+ years of support for St. Louis PrideFest. I'm seeing this with other Pride festivals, too.
It’s a harsh reminder that most companies aren’t red or blue—they’re green. Brands chase the audiences they want to win and step back from anything they fear could hurt their bottom line.
Remember: values matter, but value drives action. Position your partnership accordingly.
2. Why you should be adding credit unions to your prospect list. They have an awareness problem! I included a great example of credit union cause marketing in my newsletter last week.
3. Hot buns for charity. There's nothing more tasty than a toasted bun and butter with a side of cause marketing!
In my "Marketing Your Cause" section, I share strategies to grow your brand and audience - two key ingredients for securing more partnerships.
🤑 Marketing Your Cause
In my "Marketing Your Cause" section, I share strategies to grow your brand and audience - two key ingredients for securing more partnerships.
1. Three mistakes you're making in your partnership newsletter. #1: Only focusing on yourself. Quick heads up: I'll discuss partnership newsletters in today's webinar.
2. 8 social proof examples to build trust and increase revenue. The article is for creators, but it offers plenty of insight for nonprofits and partnership teams.
Each of these six types of social proof can boost your credibility with partners—and the best case studies often check more than one box.
User Testimonials: Highlight quotes from past or current corporate partners who share how your nonprofit helped them achieve business goals (e.g., employee engagement, community connection, or brand lift).
Expert Endorsements: Showcase support from respected leaders in business, philanthropy, or DEI. A quote or blurb from a high-profile executive or thought leader can add significant credibility.
Celebrity & Influencer Support: If a well-known figure is involved with your organization (as a donor, ambassador, or event guest), amplify it. Partners want to align with brands that have cultural cachet.
Wisdom of the Crowd: Use numbers. Share how many employees volunteered last year, how much media coverage your campaigns generated, or how many companies are already in your partner network.
Wisdom of Friends: Highlight referrals or collaborations from peer companies. If a partner’s competitor or industry peer supports you, that’s persuasive.
Credentials: Feature badges like Charity Navigator ratings, DEI awards, or client logos. This builds trust fast.
3. It's time to give social media a rest and engage supporters more meaningfully. Supporters increasingly prefer in-person interactions and direct communication.🔒 (🔒 = Did you hit a paywall? I can email you this article.)
