The EFG conferences in 2020 and 2021 were virtual, and last year's live conference fell on the same day as my daughter's graduation from college.

1. You could learn a thing or two about building successful partnerships from chip brand and collab king Doritos.
π€© Tell the prospect how the partnership will "surprise and delight" their target audience.
π Show the prospect the overlap between your supporter base and their customer base.
π€ Explain how your nonprofit's values align with the brand's values. (e.g., we're innovative, do what's right, support our communities, know how to make education fun, etc.)
π Whether you are producing a single piece of content or putting together a sponsorship package, it has to be outstanding - meaning it's highly relevant and valuable to the audience you are trying to target.

1. The headline for this graph is that 54% of adults ages 18 to 64 could not name any brands that they thought were giving back to the community.
However, my thinking on this study is different. First, 46% of adults - nearly 1 in 2 - could name a brand. Second, the research highlights that nonprofits and businesses need to do a better job promoting their charitable partnerships.
2. I talk a lot about this with my nonprofit clients. Focus on solving just one audience pain point with each piece of content. Stop trying to be everything to everyone.
