With Labor Day over, the end of the year will be here before you know it! Time to start shopping for my Christmas present! 🎁 But really...
What's your partnership strategy for Giving Tuesday (Monday, November 30th) and the holiday season?
Here are a few resources that will help you.
1. Brittany Hill at Accelerist delivered an excellent hour-long webinar last month on How to Raise More From Your Partners This Giving Season. Brittany shared some great Giving Tuesday examples!

✍️ Partnership Notes
1. Heck, any nonprofit could do this and raise a few bucks. Battle of the Bars raises $15,000 for Newark charities.
2. On Saturday, Jersey Mike's donated 20% of sales to a sport organization with an image problem. I wonder if they hit their ambitious $2 million goal?
3. It's gotten harder to sell partnerships during the pandemic. You sales team's lack of access to relevant content to share with prospects is part of the problem.
🤑 Marketing Your Cause
1. Texting is showing promise with media organizations. Should your nonprofit be using it too? 🤔 "This kind of intimacy is why texting might have a future as a revenue stream."
2. Guess who's reading their email...
"We’re seeing huge, massive growth, particularly in the Gen Z category....Gen Z is really engaging in newsletters. I think it’s a fantastic way to quickly, swiftly summarize the news of the day and keep up-to-date with what’s going on. It’s a great customer experience [and] we’re seeing more and more interest from advertisers with our newsletters as well.”
3. Looking for the right word? How to translate that word? The opposite of that word? The definition of that word? What words rhyme with that word? How to pronounce that word? Just remember these two words: Word Hippo.❤️🦛

🧠🍌 Brain Food
1. Especially during these times, don't lose your sense of wonder.
2. I often say the recipe for cause marketing success is a pound of self-interest and a teaspoon of idealism. According to historian H.W. Brand, it's true for foreign policy as well.
3. Sweetgreen’s CEO thinks being skinny is better than being vaccinated. It's not. 🤦🏼♂️
