The docs are back!
No, we can't heal the broken hearts 💔of Kansas City Chiefs fans (or Patriots fans for that matter) 🤷♂️- but we can address your partnership woes! Remember, we're not real doctors, we're cause doctors (or Cause Docs!)👨🏻🩺
The doc joining us this month is Brittany Hill, Founder of Accelerist. Many of you know Brittany well. She's a supahstah! She'll be answering your questions on developing your corporate partnership prospecting strategy.
Prospecting is the first step in the partnership process, which consists of identifying potential partners, aka prospects. The goal of prospecting is to develop a database of likely partners and then systematically communicate with them in the hopes of converting them from a potential partner to a current partner.
Brittany will be sharing her prescriptions on:
Striking the right balance between new prospects & existing partnerships
Defining your nonprofit's perfect prospect type and size
Building a funnel that takes a prospect from awareness to sold
Effectively analyzing your fundraising efforts and more!
Here are the details.
Next Wednesday, February 24th at 2pm EST, we are hosting an open "clinic" on Zoom to answer ALL your questions on developing your corporate partnership prospecting strategy.
During the call, you'll also get to play doctor by providing your own insights and perspective to "patients'" questions. In this doctor's office, everyone gets a say.
You won't want to miss this appointment with the Cause Docs! 🩺
✍️ Partnership Notes
1. A cause product is a something that is made specifically by a company to benefit a cause. This is a great example.👆And it raised $362,000 for Wreaths Across America! A close relative of cause products - yet different - is purchase-triggered donations (PTD). The latter is when a company uses an existing product - something they sell every day - and offer to make a donation (portion-of-sale or percentage) after purchase. Here's a great example of a PTD from Unique Snacks.
2. Despite the pandemic, Burlington Stores still raised $4 Million for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society with register fundraisers at its 700+ stores. This is how they made the programs register with customers! Great work.
3. Checkout the lineup of speakers for Corporate Partnerships Everywhere. It's looking like a bloody great conference. Don't miss the panel on how to build your partnership career or the Pitch Stop! This is a wonderful opportunity to hear from some different voices from all over the world!
🤑 Marketing Your Cause
1. Let's say you take my advice and write-up some case studies on your most successful partnerships (or you hire SG to write them for you!). Here's an idea that may DOUBLE the amount of time prospects spend consuming them.
2. I'm all about grabbing the low-lying fruit when it comes to partnerships. But here's how to do it for your marketing. I ❤️#1: What's already working for you?
3. Shamecards. They look like touristy postcards ...but they're not.

🧠🍌 Brain Food
1. Do you remember that "Indoguration" fundraiser I told you about last month? It benefited the Delaware Humane Society. It was supposed to raise $10k and was originally scheduled to happen on a horrible day: January 6th. It finally happened on January 17th. Check out the final tally, which included adding 12,000 donors to their email list. That's something to howl about!
2. Why didn't you tell me about John's Crazy Socks? How did I miss this? I love this guy!
