βοΈ Partnership Notes
1. Who's the King of Cause Marketing? I have no clue. But we have a queen. π
2. Country Time Lemonade used to pay kids' fines for operating illegal lemonade stands. Now that business has soured, they are sending them stimulus checks. Clevah! Not to be outdone, Mountain Dew has created a stimulus program that will pay for hunting and fishing permits in the midwest.
What kind of "stimulus" could you offer your supporters??? π€
3. Because of the pandemic, I gave up my daily trips to Starbucks for a Nespresso espresso machine. Now I can buy a coffee pod that supports coffee farmers in Peurto Rico!
4. Did you miss the webinar last week, Building Standout Partnerships During a Recession? No worries! Here's the recording and the report.
5. Readers loved the article I shared last week on vending machines as future cause marketing opportunities. Some of you wrote back asking for examples. Here are one, two, three.
π€ Marketing Your Cause
1. What should your marketing be focused on for the next 6 to 12 months? β¬οΈExisting supporters, new supporters and the branding that keeps and attracts both.
2. Itβs time to rethink your press releases as a beginning, not an end. Scott Westcott at Turn Two Communications has six great suggestions on what to do with a press release after it's published. I especially like #5.
3. How to attract more readers by using numbers in your titles. 7 is truly a magic number!

π§ π Brain Food
1. Airbnb is getting ripped apart for asking guests to donate money to hosts.
2. 5 mini-plans your nonprofit needs to thrive during the next 12 months.
3. This week's gahhden photo is one my favorite - albeit frustrating - perennials. It's Monarda 'Jacob Cline'. I love aka Bee Balm because it looks something right out of Dr. Seuss's Whoville. But I haven't had a ton of luck with it for one reason or other. I think mine needs more sun.βοΈBut this isn't a bad photo!
