The docs are back!

No, we can't give you the covid vaccine 🤷‍♂️- but we can address your partnership woes! Remember, we're not real doctors, we're cause doctors (or Cause Docs!)👨🏻‍🩺

The doc joining David Giagrando and me this month is Larry Weil (aka The Sponsorship Guy). And what perfect timing, right? I bet you're thinking about sponsors for your 2021 events and programs. Next year could be tricky because while we will be starting the year with virtual events, we could - just maybe - be back to live events by next fall.🤞

Here are the details.

1. Next Thursday, December 17th at 2pm EST, we are hosting an open "clinic" - No insurance needed. And no wait time! - on Zoom to address all your questions on event sponsorships.

2. During the call, you'll also get to play doctor by providing your own insights and perspective to "patient's'" questions. In this doctor's office, everyone gets a say.

Two more points.

First, you know me - and I told you about David last time - but let me tell you more about the esteemed professional who will be joining us: Larry Weil.

Larry has bought and sold every type of sponsorship under the sun. From the Super Bowl to monster trucks, tech conferences to BBQ festivals, Larry has seen most every kind of sponsorship tactic and activation that events use.

Larry's has also been a leader in moving clients to digital features since 2017. To say the least, Larry has been in high demand since last March when Covid crushed the live event business.

Friends, Larry is also deeply involved in causes. He is a certified presenter and volunteer climate leader for the Climate Reality Project’s Climate Reality Leadership Corps. In short, Larry is one of us!

Second, toward the end of our time together next Thursday, Larry will take ten minutes to explain his Digital Event Bag and how it can help your events prosper in 2021.

What is a Digital Event Bag???

It's a dedicated page for your event, made up of offers created by your sponsors. The bag is customizable, easy to use, and full of value for attendees.

Larry will explain:

  1. What the event bag is.

  2. How it can generate additional sponsorship revenue for you.

  3. How it allows you to directly measure ROI for both your event and your sponsors' involvement.

Whether you have a question for Larry, or are interested in the Digital Event Bag (or both!), you're not going to want to miss this appointment with the Cause Docs. 🩺

🧠🍌 Brain Food

1. In last week's newsletter, I talked about my approach to fundraising with audience-centric fundraising. However, this week I read an article on the intensifying debate between donor-centric fundraising and a radical new approach proposed by nonprofit advocate Vu Le called community-centric fundraising. Can all three perspectives co-exist. 🤔

2. Hair model Stephen Garten 💁‍♂️and I talk cause marketing on the Charity Charge Podcast.

3. A Twitter thread on philanthropy books reimagined as cakes. Now that's good! 🍰😋
